Studying abroad will allow you to expand your knowledge and culture
Living the experience of studying in another country will allow you to learn a new language or acquire new skills. Education in countries like Australia, Canada, the United States, England, and others is of high quality, which will enhance your resume and contribute to your personal and professional experience. It offers a unique opportunity where you'll meet people from different cultures, pushing you out of your comfort zone and embarking on a daily adventure. Additionally, it fosters maturity and self-awareness, helping you become more independent and self-sufficient.
In terms of friendships, you will build lasting relationships that become like family, while also practicing and developing your social and communication skills, which broadens your circle of friends. You’ll meet people from literally all over the world, share your Latin culture, and learn to appreciate your family, city, and country more. It opens your mind and changes your perspective on life. You'll have the chance to explore other places, travel to nearby countries, and work in a different environment with new people. It's definitely worth it, and there's nothing to regret.
The first thing you need to do is identify your needs or desires. Then, start developing a plan, just like when you're about to begin a new project. Below, I outline the types of courses available and some requirements, and then we’ll discuss the location since several factors influence the choice of city or country. I also encourage you to read extensively about each option so you can find what resonates with your personality and what you want to experience.
Language Courses: Generally, English is the most popular course chosen by students. You can start from the Beginner level, although I recommend that you begin studying in your home country to make the most of your course abroad. By doing this, your adjustment process will be smoother, as having a better grasp of the language will make it easier for you. After that, you can progress to the Intermediate, Pre-Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, and Advanced levels. Each course lasts approximately three months, and while you take exams each month to assess your progress, it’s ideal to stay at one level for the full three months. If you do exceptionally well on the exam, you’ll advance to the next level.
Once you reach the Upper Intermediate level, you can access the following advanced English courses:
Exam Preparation:
- IELTS
- Cambridge
- PTE
Academic English: Prepares you for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- EAP: English for Academic Purposes
The price depends on several factors, such as quality, the number of hours of classes per week, class schedule (usually morning classes are more expensive than afternoon ones), the track record and experience of the institution, the variety of courses, resources and libraries, facilities, extra and supplementary classes, and the type of teachers. Language institutions are classified into two levels: medium category and high category. Both meet all requirements; however, those in the high category are premium institutions. Here’s a brief summary:
Medium Category Institutions in Australia:
24-week English Plan:
Morning Schedule: 25 hours a week (8:30 AM to 2:30 PM) - AUD $4,800
Afternoon Schedule: 20 hours a week (4:30 PM to 9:00 PM) - AUD $4,320
Premium Institutions:
Morning Schedule: 25 hours a week (8:30 AM to 2:30 PM) - AUD $6,360
Afternoon Schedule: 20 hours a week (4:30 PM to 9:00 PM) - AUD $5,640
On average, a morning course costs between AUD $265/week and CAD $260/week. Afternoon courses are generally available in Australia, but in certain destinations, they are only offered in the morning.
Payment methods include national and international bank transfers or credit card payments. Additionally, we offer payment plans in instalments if required by the student. This varies by destination; for instance, in Australia, it's necessary to pay 100% of the tuition before applying for a student visa, while in Canada, there can be a bit more flexibility.
For Australia and New Zealand:
The enrollment process and document collection take about 4 weeks, plus the visa processing time, which averages between 4 to 12 weeks depending on immigration.
For Canada:
The enrollment process and document collection take about 4 weeks, plus the visa processing time, which is approximately 20 days to 8 weeks.
IS IT BETTER TO APPLY BEFORE GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL OR AFTER?
IS IT BETTER TO APPLY BEFORE UNIVERSITY OR AFTER UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES?
IS ANY TIME GOOD REGARDLESS OF MY AGE?
The first step is always to assess your profile and review your current situation; there’s no “best” time, the time is now. However, if you’re of legal age, it’s often better because the requirements are fewer. For example, in Australia, you’ll have an easier time working. If you’ve just graduated from high school, it’s a good age to travel before starting university. For those studying their degrees and intending to study English only, it’s the perfect opportunity, as we can demonstrate that they plan to return to finish university. If your goal is to migrate, as is the case for the majority of students, we recommend completing your studies to facilitate the migration process in your destination country.
I always recommend being very clear about the purpose of your trip; everyone has different projects. If you plan to migrate, it’s best to have a meeting with our migration agents before choosing your study plan to ensure what you’re studying aligns with your migration plan. It’s also important to consider your profile, as immigration assesses your age against your level of education. We need to demonstrate genuine intentions to travel to study, particularly the need to learn the language related to your work and education history, as well as intentions to return to your home country.
For those over 35, we need to carefully review the profile, as the strictness of immigration evaluation tends to increase at that age, as it raises the likelihood of wanting to migrate for reasons other than study.
When it comes to choosing a destination, I recommend that you describe how you envision your experience based on your preferences and personality. It's also important to check if you have acquaintances, friends, or family there, as having someone to welcome you can be very helpful.

These requirements may vary for each country; however, in general, the requirements can be summarised as follows:
Demonstrate Enrollment: You must show that you are enrolled in an institution and have an acceptance or enrolment letter.
Health Insurance: You need to provide proof of private health insurance. Each destination has specific providers, and we can assist you in securing this.
Good Health: This applies to Australia and New Zealand, where you will need to undergo medical examinations, including urine tests, X-rays, and a final assessment by a general practitioner. These tests must be conducted at authorised centres, and Link House will assist you with this process.
Financial Resources: You must demonstrate that you have sufficient funds for your stay, beyond the amount required for your course. This calculation is based on your intended duration of stay, and only the first 12 months need to be demonstrated. Average living expenses are around AUD $1,722/month for Australia, while for Canada, it varies by province, averaging CAD $900/month. Funds must be demonstrated through financial institutions such as banks and can include sponsorship from first-degree relatives.
Genuine Intent: You need to provide a letter detailing your background as a student. This letter should include a brief introduction, explain why you wish to study your chosen course, why you selected the country, what you hope to learn, and the value of the course. It’s crucial to mention reasons that motivate you to return home. This letter is very important, as it is your only chance for the official to understand you. It must be precise and clear. As an agency, we provide recommendations and tips to help you meet these requirements.
